కథ ఏంటంటే:
జీవితాంతం కలిసి ఉండాలంటే ప్రేమ పెళ్లే సరైనదని అభి (మోహిత్ పెదడ) నమ్ముతాడు. గతంలోని చేదు అనుభవాల వల్ల, పెద్దలు కుదిర్చిన పెళ్లి తర్వాతే నిజమైన ప్రేమ పుడుతుందని శ్రుతి (లావణ్య సాహుకార) నమ్ముతుంది. హైదరాబాద్‌లో ఒకే ఆఫీసులో పనిచేసే వీరిద్దరిలో, అభి మొదటి చూపులోనే శ్రుతిని ప్రేమిస్తాడు. అభి తండ్రి సంబంధం కుదర్చాలని పట్టుబడతాడు, శ్రుతి తల్లి ప్రేమకు దూరంగా ఉండమంటుంది. మధ్యలో వచ్చే ఒక మిస్టరీ ఫోన్ కాల్స్ కథకు కొంత సస్పెన్స్ జోడిస్తాయి. చివరకు వీరి పెళ్లి ఎలా జరిగిందన్నదే కథ.
నటీనటులు:
కొత్త నటులైనా మోహిత్ పెదడ తన కామెడీ టైమింగ్, సహజమైన నటనతో ఆకట్టుకున్నారు. లావణ్య సాహుకార హుషారుగా నటించారు, కానీ ఆమె పాత్రకు ఇంకా లోతు ఉండాల్సింది. వివాన్ సూర్య, లక్ష్మీ వెన్నెల తదితరులు తమ పాత్రల మేరకు చేశారు.
దర్శకత్వం, కథనం:
రెండు రకాల పెళ్లిళ్లపై చర్చను దర్శకుడు ఏ ఒక్క వైపుకూ మొగ్గకుండా, రెండు అభిప్రాయాలనూ గౌరవిస్తూ చూపించారు. అసభ్యత, హింస లేకుండా క్లీన్‌గా తీయడం అభినందనీయం. తల్లీకొడుకు, తండ్రీకొడుకు మధ్య సన్నివేశాలు బాగా కనెక్ట్ అవుతాయి. కానీ కథ చాలా సినిమాల్లో చూసిన ఫార్ములాలోనే సాగుతుంది. ఫస్టాఫ్, ముఖ్యంగా హీరో ప్రేమ పెళ్లి సిద్ధాంతం, స్నేహితుల ప్రయత్నాల సన్నివేశాలు సాగదీసినట్టు అనిపిస్తాయి. సెకండాఫ్‌లో భావోద్వేగ సన్నివేశాల టైమింగ్ కుదరలేదు, క్లైమాక్స్ ఇంకా బలంగా ఉండాల్సింది.

‘321 (Love Marriage vs Arranged)’, starring Mohit Pedada and Lavanya Sahukara, released in theatres on October 23. Directed by Shanthi Kumar Chilumula, it is produced by Ramanuja Reddy under Brahma Art Creations, with music by Calvin Joy.
The setup
Abhi (Mohit Pedada) believes only a love marriage can last a lifetime. Shruthi (Lavanya Sahukara), shaped by bitter past experiences, believes real love grows after an arranged marriage. They work at the same Hyderabad office, and Abhi falls for her at first sight. His father insists on an arranged alliance, her mother warns her off love, and a string of mysterious phone calls adds a dash of suspense. How the two finally end up married is the story.
Performances
Newcomer Mohit Pedada impresses with his comic timing and ease. Lavanya Sahukara is lively, though her character needed more depth. Vivan Surya, Lakshmi Vennela and the rest of the cast are adequate.
Direction and screenplay
The director treats both sides of the marriage debate with respect rather than picking a winner, and keeps the film clean, free of vulgarity and violence. The mother-son and father-son scenes connect. But the story follows a template seen many times, and the first half, especially the hero’s love-marriage theories and his friends’ antics, drags. In the second half the emotional scenes are mistimed and the climax could have been stronger.
Technical aspects
Siva Prasad Muppala’s camera captures Hyderabad and the office setting nicely. Calvin Joy’s background score works, but the songs don’t. The editing needed to be tighter.
